Covers a lot of ground in 300 pages and another 74 pages of Appendix, sources, and the index. Anyway, yeah I also wish I could find more documentary type videos on Hank.

I've been very interested in learning more about him because I'm fascinated with both music and addiction and knew his life contained a lot of both. So, I thought reading the book was very interesting and have even started reading it over to make sure I picked up everything. I've been trying to explain exactly what makes Hank Williams my favorite and over everything I think its the raw emotion in Hanks music. Hanks music was simple, but that's certainly not a bad thing in my opinion. Hank just poured his heart and soul into his music, and that's what music is all about in my opinion, pouring heart, emotion, and soul into it. Not to mention Hanks ability to write some amazing lyrics.

Hanktheramblinman... I see you are from Georgia.. make a trip over to Montgomery sometime and check out the Hank Williams Musuem there.. go by the gravesite.. and there are other locations along the way that would be of interest.. There are numerous books that I have read on Hank Sr..One by Lycrecia Hoover who was Hanks Step-daughter that is a very good book.. There was one I read in the early 80s called Your Cheatin Heart.. not sure of the author.. but it was interesting.. That is where I first heard of the possiblity of a unknown child that turned out to be Jett Williams..If you have any questions just ask I am sure someone around here knows the answer.. or can direct you to it.. and I have always said that Hank could put some of the deepest emotions into the simplest words..

Yeah, I've been wanting to make a trip to the Museum and gravesite, but haven't been able to make it yet. I'm also looking for other books, and such on the subject and will be sure to look for the ones mentioned in your post. I'll be sure to ask any question I have here, as this site seems to be full of people knowledgeable on all 3 eras of Hanks. Thanks again for all those books and suggestions.
